Partner Onaona Thoene selected as Pacific Business News’ 40 Under 40 class of 2020

Congratulations to Carlsmith Ball partner, Onaona Thoene, who was recognized by Pacific Business News’ 40 Under 40. The annual awards program recognizes outstanding young business professionals in Hawaii who demonstrate excellence in their profession and commitment to their community. 

 

Thoene was promoted to partner in 2019 as one of the youngest partners at the firm. A member of the firm’s real property, environmental and corporate practice groups, she is an invaluable advisor on environmental matters for clients and the Hawaii community at large. Onaona’s careful judgment and expertise in environmental and land use matters caught the eye of Governor David Ige, who appointed her to the State Environmental Council in 2016. She was later appointed to chair of the Council in 2018. She is also involved with the Hawaii State Bar Association’s lawyer well-being task force and Legal Aid Society’s Access to Justice program.
