Carlsmith Ball Hires Carina I. Fasi and Matthew T. Shimabukuro in Honolulu Office

Carlsmith Ball LLP welcomes Carina I. Fasi and Matthew T. Shimabukuro to the firm as associates in the Honolulu office. Both are 2023 graduates of the University of Hawaiʻi at Manoa, William S. Richardson School of Law, and previously summered with the firm.

Fasi’s prior professional experience includes serving as a Judicial Extern for Hawaiʻi Supreme Court Chief Justice Mark E. Recktenwald and as a Congressional Intern in the Office of United States Senator Mazie K. Hirono. While in law school, Fasi was on the Law Review and received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for Torts and for Legislation and Statutory Interpretation. She received her B.A., cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, in Political Science with a Minor in Sociology from the University of Hawaiʻi at Manoa, and is a graduate of ‘Iolani School.

Shimabukuro previously served as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Catherine H. Remigio, First Circuit Court. While in law school, he was an editor of the Asian Pacific Law and Policy Journal and received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for Civil Procedure I. Shimabukuro received his B.A., cum laude, in Business Administration from Pacific University, and is a graduate of Kamehameha Schools.
