Joyce W. Y. Tam-Sugiyama
Joyce Tam-Sugiyama is a Partner in the firm's Honolulu office and a member of its Litigation practice group. She represents a broad array of clients in all aspects of commercial litigation, agency proceedings, government investigations, appeals, and alternative dispute resolution. Because of her engineering background, Joyce regularly advises clients on technical and regulatory issues involving state and federal environmental laws. Joyce has helped her clients to navigate the complex landscape of regulatory enforcement, permitting, contested case hearings, and administrative appeals.
Joyce also has extensive intellectual property litigation experience in a wide variety of cutting edge technologies including renewable energy, oil exploration technology, and pharmaceuticals. Joyce has represented entrepreneurs, large corporations and small businesses to identify and protect copyright, trademark, and patent assets.
