Katherine A. Garson Joins Carlsmith Ball

HONOLULU, HAWAII-August 18, 2015-Carlsmith Ball is pleased to announce that Katherine A. Garson has joined the firm as an Of Counsel attorney in the firm's Hilo office and a member of the firm's Administrative Law, Litigation & Alternative Dispute Resolution, and Real Estate, Land Use & Hospitality practice groups. Garson previously served as the Assistant Corporation Counsel and a Deputy Corporation Counsel for the County of Hawai'i in Hilo. In that capacity, she provided advice and counsel to the Mayor and County Council, as well as to various departments, boards, and commissions within the County, including the Department of Water Supply and the Water Board. Her litigation experience has extended to areas such as civil rights and condemnation, and she has represented clients in federal and states courts. She received her J.D. degree from Santa Clara University School of Law and her B.A. degree from Occidental College. She is admitted to the Hawaii State Bar and the State Bar of California (inactive) and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of Hawai'i, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
