Entitlement and Reward
If you have knowledge of Aerospace, Medicare, IRS, Construction or Finance fraud against the United States Government, the False Claims Act, 31 U.S.C. § 3729 et seq. and the 2009 Fraud Enforcement and Recovery Act, entitles you to be a private Attorney General to file an action on behalf of the United States Government and rewards you with 15% to 30% of the recovery by the United States Government plus attorneys fees, expenses and costs. The False Claims Act also provides redress to "any employee who is discharged, demoted, suspended, threatened, harassed, or in any manner discriminated against in the terms and conditions of employment", as well as protection under several other federal and state statutes.
Through 2009, $25 billion has been recovered for violations of the False Claims Act, of which $2.5 billion has been paid in awards to Whistleblowers, plus recovery under the False Claims Acts of the States.
