Attorney is a member of Carlsmith's Corporate & Business and Litigation & Alternative Dispute Resolution Practice Groups; Catherine L. M. Hall is a member of the firm's Litigation & Alternative Dispute Resolution Practice Group; Jane Kelley Schumacker is a member of the firm's Corporate & Business and Tax, Estate Planning & Wealth Management Practice Groups; and Onaona P. Thoene is a member of the firm's Environmental and Corporate & Business Practice Groups.
Attorney recently clerked for The Honorable Robert J. Faris at the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Hawaii where he was extensively involved with the most prominent bankruptcy cases in Hawaii over the past three years. He received his J.D., cum laude, from The University of Hawaii, William S. Richardson School of Law and has a broad range of Asia-Pacific experiences, having attended the Chinese University of Hong Kong and receiving a Certificate of Global Business Law from La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia. While in law school, he was a member of the Asia-Pacific Law & Policy Journal and received a certificate in Pacific-Asian Legal Studies. Attorney also received an M.B.A. from Chaminade University of Honolulu.
Hall received her J.D., magna cum laude, from The University of Hawaii, William S. Richardson School of Law. While in law school, she served as Outside Articles Editor of The University of Hawaii Law Review and represented the law school at the National Native American Law Moot Court competition where she won the National Titles for Best Advocates and Best Individual Oralist in her final year of competing after receiving second place awards for Best Advocates and Best Brief in her first year of competing. Hall has been the recipient of numerous writing distinctions and a variety of scholastic merit awards. Prior to attending law school, Hall was a residential substance abuse counselor and the owner and president of an activity, tour, and timeshare resort marketing business.
Schumacker received her J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law where she also received an M.B.A. Immediately after graduating from law school, Schumacker assisted with estate planning activities within a family office and served as secretary of an advisory board of directors.
Thoene received her J.D., magna cum laude, from The University of Hawaii, William S. Richardson School of Law with certificates in environmental law and native Hawaiian law. While in law school, she was the Co-Editor-in-Chief of The University of Hawaii Law Review and previously served as a staff writer for the publication.
